We’re seeding and tracking an online viral marketing campaign to support the UK and European launch of a new multimedia messaging mobile phone from Sony Ericsson.
The viral campaign features three digital video films under the theme ‘Drool’, all focussing on amusing physical reactions to the new phone.
Available only on the web, the films are unbranded in order to compel viewers to interact with the ‘Drool is cool’ phenomenon. They drive viewers to the official ‘Drool’ web sites around Europe in six different territories.
We’re seeding the films via viral community sites, blogs and forums around the world. Our online video tracking system then provides real time accountability of the films’ downloads, views and hotlinks in order to quantify the impact the campaign has on brand awareness.
Already our ‘cross-pollination’ seeding activity resulted in the ‘Doggy Style’ film’s immediate entry to the Lycos Viral Chart at Number 1, knocking the new Kylie ‘Wet T-Shirt’ video clip off its perch - no small feat!
