DMC launches Xbox’s first Australasian online viral and buzz marketing campaign as part of their ‘200 games’ campaign …

We’re planning, seeding and tracking a new online viral and buzz marketing campaign for Xbox Australia and New Zealand, to celebrate that Xbox now has more than 200 games.

The campaign features a digital film clip created by Lava Communications. The new film, entitled ‘Rush’, takes an alternative and amusing look at the ways in which a man rushes through his day to meet up with his friends to play Xbox.

The viral film clip is released only on the web and includes scenes that won’t appear on TV. It drives viewers to an Xbox web site designed by Spin New Media, where they can enter a competition to win a Limited Edition Green Xbox, an Xbox DVD Remote and 10 of the best Xbox games from the 200+ games now available.

The campaign is being seeded via our online influencer network and tracked using our system that provides real-time quantitative accountability of the number of people who view the film online.

Richard Hirst, Australia’s National Marketing Manager for Xbox, explains:

This online viral and buzz marketing activity is a strategic part of our campaign, broadening awareness - particularly among the influencer, technology-savvy viral community - that we now have in excess of 200 games available.
